Deckvest VITO is the latest Spinlock inflatable lifejacket harness technology, we like this product so much some of our team members only wear this vest on the water, and based on Spinlock's design work for the Volvo Ocean Race. The Deckvest VITO is a 170N lifejacket with an integrated Deck safety Harness. All VITO Deckvests are built to allow them to be upgraded with the unique Spinlock Harness Release System (HRS). This revolutionary system evolved directly from the development work with the Volvo Ocean Race, is in the final stage of approval testing, and will be launched in early 2019. HRS is a unique system that ensures a simple release from a safetyline, even when fully loaded. It is easily accessible with either hand, but significantly reduces the risk of an accidental snag or release. Shown with tether NOT included.

The Deckvest VITO is the latest Spinlock inflatable lifejacket harness technology, it is based on our design work from the custom product made for the sailors in the Volvo Ocean Race. All teams were equipped with the same inflatable lifejacket harness developed in collaboration with a core group of Volvo offshore sailors. Fundamental to the new design was a lifejacket that crews actually wanted to wear more frequently, with developed custom features.

If required – at an additional cost, Spinlock can upgrade any VITO to include the new Harness Release System once it is available in 2019. In 2019 the Vito will also be available to order with the HRS™ fitted

Staying connected to the boat is undoubtedly safer than being in the water and the use of a safety line is actively encouraged. However, in the event of a fall overboard, a casualty can find themselves being dragged/trapped alongside or behind the vessel. A situation that can be hard to be released from.
